On June 1, Kawasaki City, Ota Ward, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government concluded an agreement on the liaison and cooperation for the expansion of the use and application of hydrogen as an effective means to maintain and reinforce industrial competitiveness, ensure the stable supply of energy, and achieve carbon neutrality. Going forward, the three parties will collaborate to promote the building of a hydrogen supply system and the expansion of demand in the airport coastal area, eventually contributing to the carbon neutrality of the Tokyo Metropolitan area and Japan on the whole.

On June 6, as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s project “My Home Director of the Environment Bureau,” Governor Koike visited Shibuya Municipal Shibuya Honmachi Gakuen Elementary School and gave a special lesson on HTT. Governor Koike talked to fourth-graders about specific electricity saving measures that we can do in our daily lives using keywords for electricity saving “HTT” which stands for the following: H = Herasu (to save in Japanese), T = Tsukuru (to generate), and T = Tameru (to store).

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting Tokyo-style Smart Agriculture aiming to solve challenges facing farmers with cutting edge technologies. On June 8, Governor Koike visited “NTTe-City Labo,” a facility that remotely supports farm work using local 5G and other technologies as part of this initiative.

On June 23, the first Tokyo Ethical Conference was held as an initial step in creating a social movement to permeate ethical consumption in our daily lives. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and partner companies and organizations gathered to deepen their liaisons. Governor Koike also attended and gave a kick-off address.
