April 3, 2023 FY 2023 Tokyo Metropolitan Government Employees Entrance Ceremony
On April 3, FY 2023 Tokyo Metropolitan Government Employees Entrance Ceremony was held at the Conference Hall on the fifth floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1. Thirty-five representatives of the newly hired employees, including six who received their letters of appointments or took oath, attended the ceremony. Approximately 1,800 others participated online.
Governor Koike encouraged the newly employed, saying, “Each and every one of you will carve out the future of Tokyo, Japan and the world. Such a role requires strength and motivation. Let’s move forward with an enterprising spirit and pride in being a part of a game-changing era.”

April 4 2023 Tokyo Aquatics Center Reopening Ceremony and Japan Swimming Championships Opening Ceremony
On April 4, the Tokyo Aquatics Center Reopening Ceremony and Japan Swimming Championships Opening Ceremony were jointly held at Tatsumi, Koto Ward. With this reopening, all new permanent facilities that were developed on the occasion of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games have been fully opened. Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko and Koto Ward Vice Mayor Otsuka Yoshihiko attended the joint ceremony, and Suzuki Daichi, President of the Japan Swimming Federation, announced the opening of the Japan Swimming Championships via video message. The Championships events (Day 1) were held until 6 p.m.
