May 9, 2023: Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo Yaesu Blood Donation Station
On May 9, the Japan Red Cross Society held an opening ceremony for the Tokyo Yaesu Blood Donation Station, the first dedicated station for donations of plasma components in the eastern part of Japan. Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Kato and Tokyo Governor Koike appeared on stage for the ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the launch of the station.

May 10, 2023: 2025 Deaflympics Emblem Production Launched
On May 10, an orientation for the creation of an emblem was held at Tsukuba University of Technology.
The emblem will become a symbol of the 2025 Deaflympics to be held for the first time in Japan. Hearing-impaired students will produce the design of the emblem.

May 24, 2023: Perovskite Solar Cell Demonstration Experiments Launched
On May 24, the Bureau of Sewerage's Morigasaki Water Reclamation Center (Ota Ward) began measuring power generation efficiency and verifying corrosion resistance with a view to the practical application of perovskite solar cells, which are domestically produced technologies. The film-type perovskite solar cells to be verified are thin and flexible, so it is expected that they can be installed in a wider range of locations if they are put into practical use.

May 29, 2023: Start of Electric Scooter Sharing Service
On May 29, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government held a ceremony for the commencement of the electric scooter sharing service supported by TMG. This is part of the “Project to Promote the Utilization of Electric Motorcycles, etc.,” a pioneering initiative to promote the use of motorcycles without gasoline engines toward the realization of “Zero Emission Tokyo,” aiming to make Tokyo an environmentally advanced city with low to zero CO2 emissions.
