September 25, 2022 Disaster Prevention Drill with a Diverse Lineup 1/4
On September 25, a disaster prevention drill was held at the Sagimiya Nishi Housing Central Park for Children in Nakano Ward, hosted by the Sagimiya Nishi Housing Residents’ Association. Sagimiya Nishi Housing is a housing complex with about 680 households living in 19 buildings, and about one-quarter of the residents are foreign nationals. This drill was also intended to be an opportunity to develop a good relationship between people of the residents' association and foreign residents. With the support of Nakano Ward and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation TSUNAGARI, the disaster prevention drill, which was communicated through "plain Japanese" to make it easy for foreign residents to understand, was attended by about 200 people, including local residents.
* In order to revitalize town associations and residents' associations that are suffering from a shortage of members, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation TSUNAGARI collaborates with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and wards and other municipalities to carry out the "Community Associations Support Caravan" to assist them from planning to implementation. This disaster drill was one of the efforts for revitalization.
