August 1 to 4, 2022 The 46th All Japan Senior High School Cultural Festival in Tokyo (Tokyo Soubun 2022) 1/4
For five days from July 31 to August 4, Tokyo Soubun 2022 Category Events were held in various venues in Tokyo.
The Festival is the largest arts and culture festival for high school students in Japan and this was the first time it was held in Tokyo.
The category events included 19 standard categories, such as for theater and Shogi, as well as four sponsored categories for bands, tea ceremony, volunteerism and special schools.

On August 26, the 50th National Fire and Rescue Techniques Competition was held in Tachikawa City, Tokyo.
This competition brings together winners of firefighting competitions throughout Japan to compete in advanced fire and rescue techniques.
In this year’s competition marking the 50th anniversary, firefighters displayed their finely honed skills and techniques in the land division (8 events) and the aquatic division (8 events).
