May 1, 2022 SaLaD Spring Concert “Yaon de Orchestra” 1/2
On May 3, the SaLaD Spring Concert “Yaon de Orchestra” was held at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall after a three-year hiatus. Governor Koike said, “We have been struggling with the coronavirus pandemic for quite a long time, but it is good to see everyone observing the basic Covid prevention measures. Please remember to maintain social distancing while you enjoy this Yaon de Orchestra.”

Spring Food Festival 2022 “Tokyo Tokyo Delicious Museum” was held at Stone & Light Square and Flower Square in Symbol Promenade Park (Koto Ward) from May 20 to 22. Thirty-five booths were set up in four categories: Amazing Restaurants in Tokyo, World-class Japanese Dishes, World Food to Taste in Tokyo, and Supreme Sweets. Visitors enjoyed a variety of food while fully respecting all Covid protocols.

May 30, 2022 Takeda/Novavax COVID-19 vaccinations given at a mass vaccination center 1/3
On May 30, the Takeda/Novavax COVID-19 vaccine vaccination site was open to the media at TMG South Observatory Vaccination Center, one of the mass vaccination centers in Tokyo. Takeda/Novavax vaccines are being offered at two mass vaccination centers: TMG and Tachikawa Minami. The new vaccination option started being given at this center on May 30, for the first time in Tokyo.
The Takeda/Novavax vaccine is the fourth anti-coronavirus vaccine approved domestically. This is a novel recombinant protein vaccine, different from the mRNA vaccine of Pfizer and Takeda/Moderna and the viral vector vaccine of AstraZeneca that have been used in Japan so far.

On May 31, Governor Koike attended a HTT special class and a swearing-in ceremony for “my home director of the environment” with the fourth graders at Shinjuku Municipal Ochiai Third Elementary School (Shinjuku Ward).
TMG is promoting efforts to reduce, create and store (in Japanese, Herasu, Tsukuru and Tameru, respectively) electricity. The Governor implemented a special class focusing on HTT to encourage children to use electricity wisely.
