April 1, 2022 - Induction Ceremony for New Employees of Tokyo Metropolitan Government 1/3
On April 1, the FY 2022 induction ceremony for new employees of Tokyo Metropolitan Government was held at TMG No. 1 Building. This fiscal year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government hired some 1,391 new employees. To prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, four persons were chosen to represent new employees who otherwise attended the ceremony online.

On April 9, the “2022 BOCCIA TOKYO CUP supported by Japan Post Insurance” was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Shibuya Ward. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government cosponsored the event. A total of 32 teams competed in the event. Contestants were drawn from teams representing Thailand and Japan, as well as the winner of the BOCCIA BEYOND CUP held by TMG in December last year, and other teams that won preliminary matches in each region.

On April 10, an event commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of the Ground Self Defense Force Division 1 and the 71st Anniversary of the creation of JGSDF Camp Nerima was held by the JGDSF Division 1 at JGSDF Camp Nerima.
Governor Koike attended the ceremony and gave a congratulatory speech, expressing her hopes that JGSDF members continue their mission with a strong sense of responsibility in order to protect the lives and assets of the Tokyo Metropolis, the people in Tokyo and all the people in Japan.

On April 18, 2022, the first event of the “Make Children Smile” project was held at Tokyo Metropolitan Mitaka Secondary School. “Harami-chan,” a pop piano player who is popular on YouTube, gave a surprise piano performance for the students.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education will promote this project for children to recover their smiles and continue to learn by “seeing, hearing and touching” during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has seen various restrictions placed on socializing and school events for children.
