September 12, 2019 Designated karate player (representative of Japan) Emiko Kawasaki visited the Edogawa Ward Nishiichinoe Elementary School. In her lecture given to school children, Emiko Kawasaki told that her brother, active in the same field, strengthened her dedication for karate and spoke about setbacks she experienced and how she overcame them.

Profile karate player Emiko Kawasaki
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. She started karate at the age of 5 thanks to her brother’s influence and won the women’s individual kata at the National Junior High School Karatedo Championships when in the third year of junior high school. In the third year of high school, she was placed 3rd at the Inter-High. In her fourth year at Kokushikan University, she won the All Japan Karate Championship. She finished 3rd at the Australian Open and was selected as a designated player (representative of Japan).
