July 13, 2019 Wheelchair tennis Paralympian Miho Nijo visited the Setagaya Ward Karasuyama Elementary School.
In her lecture given to school children, Miho Nijo talked about how she became a wheelchair tennis Paralympian and the experiences she gained by devoting herself to sports. There was also a wheelchair tennis demonstration with a teacher.

Profile wheelchair tennis player Miho Nijo
Born in Hokkaido. At the age of 23, when she was working as a carpenter, she fell from a scaffolding and suffered a spinal cord injury, which made her need a wheelchair. Placed 4th in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympics women's doubles competition. Announced retirement in 2019. Continues activities to contribute to the development of sports for the disabled.
