Yurakucho was catapulted into fame through the hit song "Yurakucho de Aimasho (Let's Meet in Yurakucho)." After the Tokaido Shinkansen was inaugurated in 1964, multi-tenant buildings disappeared, and the scenery of the city changed drastically.
