乗ってみたいな　自動運転タクシー実証実験

12月8日から始まる「西新宿における自動運転タクシー実証実験の開始」に先立ち、7日、報道関係者向けデモンストレーションが都庁第二本庁舎正面玄関前で行われました。
このプロジェクトでは、地域交通網の弱体化やタクシー業界の人手不足などの課題に対し、5G通信技術など先端技術を用いて、自動運転タクシーの事業化による解決を目指すとのことです。
当日は関係者が専用モバイルアプリからタクシーを配車し、乗車する様子が披露されました。

実証実験は23日まで西新宿エリアで実施されます。参加者は11月のモニターで公募しました。

1. 実証実験専用アプリで配車リクエスト
2. 配車が成立した場合、自動運転タクシーに乗車（セーフティドライバーが同乗）

「Demonstration experiment of self-driving taxi I want to ride with it 」：Office for Strategic Policy and ICT Promotion

On December 7, one day prior to the start of the “self-driving taxi demonstration experiment in Nishi-Shinjuku” on December 8, a presentation for press was held in front of the entrance of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 2.
The aim of this project is to solve issues such as the weakening of the regional transportation system and labor shortage in the taxi industry through the commercialization of self-driving taxis using special technologies such as fifth-generation (5G) ultrahigh-speed wireless network. 
That day, it was shown how people could order and get on a taxi by virtue of a peculiar smartphone app.
The demonstration experiment will be conducted in the Nishi-Shinjuku area until December 23. Test persons were selected in November.

【Characteristics of the demonstration experiment】
1. Request for vehicle through the dedicated demonstration experiment app
2. Once the vehicle has been appointed, the autonomous taxi (with a safety driver) can be boarded
